For the precious souls who shaped Lynne's heart, filled her home with love, and left paw prints that will never fade. They are gone from our arms β but never, ever from our hearts.
"Every animal I have ever loved has taught me something irreplaceable. They have taught me about patience, about presence, about the kind of unconditional love that asks for nothing in return. They have made me a better caregiver, a better human, a better soul.
This page is for them. For the ones who are no longer here but who live on in every gentle visit I make, every anxious cat I calm, every owner I reassure. They are the reason I do this work.
If you have loved and lost an animal, you know this grief. It is real. It is profound. And it deserves to be honored."
β LynneEach one a universe. Each one forever loved.
Basking in eternal sunshine 🌞
“Midnight was exactly what his name promised — deep, mysterious, and full of quiet magic. Those green eyes saw everything. He was the dominant one in our little family — Kit knew it, Oreo knew it, I knew it. He loved his windowsill, the sun on his black fur, and being exactly where he wanted to be. He came after Oreo left, and I think he understood that we were all a little broken. He held us together in his quiet way. He was never just a cat. He was my heart.”
Always watching over us 🌙
“He always knew when I was coming home. He’d be right there — sitting perfectly, tail curled around his paws, those brilliant green eyes watching the door. Kit would be nearby, pretending not to care, but always nearby. That was their dynamic. Midnight watched the door. Kit watched Midnight. I watched them both and felt, every single time, like the luckiest person in the world.”
Lightning fast · Forever young ⚡
“Oreo went first. That is the sentence I still have trouble saying out loud. He was 17, lightning fast until the very end, ball-obsessed and full of a joy that was almost aggressive in its enthusiasm. Bone cancer took him suddenly — a diagnosis that came too fast, a goodbye that came too soon. He and Midnight had their own understanding. Kit felt his absence in ways he still won’t fully show. And no dog had touched my heart so deeply since Frisco — until Oreo came along and quietly, completely, won it all over again.”
Unbothered. Always. 🖤
“He had a gift for finding the coziest spot in any room. The laundry. The dryer. The sunny patch that moved across the floor throughout the day. He tracked warmth the way some cats track birds. He was never cold. He was never uncomfortable. He was, in every sense, a cat who knew how to live.”
My first love · Always first ❤️
“Frisco was my first love. I lost her as a teenager, and that loss shaped everything — the way I love animals, the way I understand grief, the way I hold space for others when they lose theirs. I didn’t love another dog the way I loved Frisco until Oreo came along. Some loves are the kind you measure everything else against. Frisco was that love.”
My first love ❤️ My greatest teacher
“This is what Frisco looked like in my heart — that rich auburn coat, those warm eyes, that spirit that never dimmed. She was my first great love, lost when I was still a teenager. She taught me what it means to grieve an animal, and in doing so, she made me who I am. Everything I do for every animal I care for — it started with her.”
Together, always 🖤🤍
“Kit on top. Midnight below. That was their arrangement, and it suited them both perfectly. Midnight was the dominant one — he made that clear — but Kit knew exactly how to push his buttons, and I think Midnight loved him for it. They spent years like this. Watching the world from their tower. Keeping each other company in the quiet hours. I still have the cat tree.”
“There are more names, more faces, more stories that deserve to live here. Each one shaped who I am. Each one will be honored — in their own time, in their own words. Until then, this candle burns for all of them.”

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent. Their eager body quivers.
Suddenly they begin to run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
